English alumna Samantha
Lundy has officially started her work as a Content Specialist at Hillyard, Inc.
Samantha will be working on maintaining and managing Hillyard’s master data and
online products. She has also have been tasked with comparing Hillyard’s site’s
layout to competitors’ sites and looking at ways Hillyard’s site can be more
user friendly.
Samantha credits her
coursework here at Western for preparing her for the position:
“The principles I learned in Dr. Charlton’s
class have been extremely useful for my site comparison and layout project.
Working as the MoRe Prize coordinator for Mochila
Review with Dr. Kunkel had given me the skills to understand how to handle
and organize large amounts of data. Dr. Adkins’ classes showed me how to be
professional, work on a collaborative team, and gave me the opportunity to
manage projects that led to an internship that was a stepping stone to my
employment at Hillyard. I am so grateful to the staff and faculty of the MWSU
EML Dept. and am proud to call myself an alumna!”
Congratulations,
Samantha! We're pretty proud, too!
