Workshop on Copyright Use for Educators

2011 “Yes you CAN Use Copyrighted Materials!” Workshop for Educators

Thursday, February 3: 4:30 – 6:30 PM

Learn about the Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education and why media coordinators and teachers should embrace students’ use of mass media, popular culture and digital media as they re-mix and/or create their own texts.

The hands-on workshop will include video case studies and lesson strategies developed at Temple University’s Media Education Lab. Valorie Stokes, Platte County High School Media Coordinator and National Writing Project Web Presence Retreat Coordinator, facilitates the workshop.

Participants will receive Professional Development certificates (two hours – information literacy) and instructional materials for classroom and school use.
