Griffon Yearbook Garners International Recognition

Missouri Western yearbook wins prestigious Eska Frog Award for Excellence

Missouri Western State University announced that the 2012 Griffon yearbook has been named an international winner of the prestigious Eska Frog Award for Excellence by vendor Eska Graphic Board.

Eska Graphic Board is a worldwide producer and supplier of graphic board for hardcover books, binders, albums, games, displays and other products. Each year, the Eska Frog Awards is a competition for all Eska customers, with winners chosen in four categories and five regions.
The 2012 Griffon yearbook, which used Eska Graphic Board material purchased by Walsworth Publishing for its cover, won first place in the Book category for the North America region, which allowed it to advance to the international competition where it was named a Book International winner.

It was the first time a U.S. entry won an Eska Frog Award in the Book International category, and only the second time a U.S. entry won the prize in any of the Eska Frog International categories.
The 2012 cover was a black finish with an embossed title, “Rooted,” and a detailed cut out of a tree with roots, which allowed the names of Missouri Western students to show through in a gold color. Designed by Editor-in-Chief Heather Heater

A celebration is to be held at the Walsworth facility in Marceline Mo. September 18, 2013.
