Foreign Language Day 2012

Over 170 high school students from around the region converged at Missouri Western on Tuesday, April 3 for Foreign Language Day. From Poetry Slam to student-produced commercials, a range of events provided students the chance to show what they know in Chinese, French, German, and Spanish.

Award winners received music, films, and books for their performance. Outstanding students in the Poetry Slam, Short Stories, and the Great Moments in History re-enactments received scholarships to Missouri Western.

Thanks to foreign language faculty Susie Hennessy (foreign language coordinator), Eduardo Castilla-Oritz (pictured left having fun at the event), Ana Bausset-Page, and Tiantian Zou (Chinese Fulbright professor).

Planning now begins for Foreign Language Day 2013!
